It is therefore important to identify counterfeit Hyundai items to avoid risks and damage that could compromise the vehicle’s operation and performance.
Hyundai Mobis has put together some tips that can help consumers check for genuine Hyundai parts:
– Inspect the parts: check for imperfections in the finish, printing faults on the product and packaging, or tamper marks;
– Hyundai Mobis packaging has the Hyundai logo with the description: ‘Genuine Parts’;
– Cardboard box labels are always rounded at the corners;
– Hyundai Mobis never delivers parts unlabeled or with packaging disassembled and separated from the product;
– Genuine Hyundai Mobis products will never be delivered with products from other brands or manufacturers;
– It is important to pay special attention to products with prices well below those generally practiced in the market.
Get to know the most counterfeited items
According to a survey carried out by Hyundai Mobis, spare parts such as air filters, oil filters, fuel filters, belts, brake pads, windshield wipers, coils and spark plugs and coded keys are among the most counterfeited.
In the collision parts line, airbag covers, headlights, windshields, windows, fenders, radiator grilles, bumpers and hoods are also among the most copied products.
On the list of accessories, badges, hubcaps, key rings, stickers, side rails, key caps, floor mats and logos are among the most pirated products.

Genuine parts and accessories supplied by Hyundai Mobis, when installed at HMB dealerships, are guaranteed for 12 months or 20,000 kilometers, whichever comes first, regardless of the type of use of the vehicle, counting from the date of delivery of the item. Products purchased over the counter at dealerships, on the other hand, have a 90-day warranty, which is also counted from the date the product was purchased.
Hyundai vehicles in the HB20 and Creta ranges that are under warranty may lose their warranty if they have counterfeit parts damaged during periodic servicing.
It is worth remembering that the warranty on the genuine accessory or spare part does not cover natural wear and tear, when the vehicle is used improperly, causing the accessory or part to wear out. Nor does it cover any problems with the installation or improper installation of the accessory or part, as this is not a defect in the manufacture of the component.
