Multinational showed a lot of innovation and technology in various products in areas such as automotive components, electrification, light bulbs, and mobility of the future
- Hyundai Mobis highlighted the Innovative Display series, which captures the future of car screens, and key electrification technologies at CES 2024.
- At the event, Mobis also unveiled MOBION, a vehicle capable of driving sideways “like a crab”, anticipating future mobility experiences.
- Another highlight of the new technologies was the 22kW ICCU, which optimizes electric vehicle charging efficiency.

Hyundai Mobis took part in the world’s largest technology exhibition, CES (Consumer Electronics Show), held from January 9 to 12, 2024 in Las Vegas. The company presented 20 new mobility technologies that are ready for mass production.
With a focus on the international market, Hyundai Mobis presented a great deal of innovation and technology embedded in various products in areas such as automotive components, electrification, light bulbs and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), including core future mobility technologies such as the Innovative Display series – rich in high-value advanced technology – and the high-power Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU).
MOBION: electric concept vehicle specially designed for CES 2024

At the exhibition, Hyundai Mobis presented the “MOBION” electric vehicle, equipped with state-of-the-art “e-Corner System” motion technology. During the event, the public had the opportunity to see first-hand how MOBION moves in unusual ways, including lateral and diagonal displacements, as well as stationary pivot turns.
“MOBION represents the embodiment of Hyundai Mobis’ core technologies, all ready for immediate, mass production,” said Vice President Lee Seung-Hwan, Head of Advanced Engineering at Hyundai Mobis. “Always striving to change the paradigm of vehicle mobility, Mobis has created MOBION to showcase our core products and capabilities.”
To enable lateral movement, diagonal steering and pivot turns, MOBION’s four wheels are individually controlled. The e-Corner system has a complete package of electric motor, steering, braking and suspension integrated into each wheel, which makes it possible to create a completely new movement for all mobility. The system includes the advanced ADAS & Lighting exterior lighting technology, a redefined movement that further enhances everyone’s safety.
Innovative Transparent Display Premiere
Transparent screen was one of the innovations presented at the event (Image: Disclosure)
The Innovative Display series – a union of cutting-edge and high-value technologies – is the world’s first mobile and rotatable display for vehicles, as well as the Quantum Dot and Local Dimming Display (QL) and the 3D display that feature OLED-level performance on LCD.
This is a transparent display for cars that was presented for the first time at the event. This product is a state-of-the-art display that uses holographic optical element technology. This product can project clear images onto a transparent panel and, at the same time, give the driver of the vehicle a feeling of space and openness that is wider than that of general displays.
With this technology, transparent displays allow images to be magnified on the vehicle’s windshield. In this way, drivers can check various information on the display without looking too far away from the road, increasing the level of safety.
22kW ICCU: system optimizes electric vehicle charging efficiency
Another innovative technology, this time in the field of electrification, presented by Hyundai Mobis at CES was the 22kW ICCU, which is installed in the center of the electric drive, together with the battery system (BSA).
The ICCU is a key element for charging and driving electric vehicles and is a power conversion system that integrates elements such as DC/AC charging devices and communication equipment. The higher the output, the better the charging speed and efficiency. If the 22 kW ICCU is installed in an electric vehicle with the same specifications, the vehicle’s charging time will be halved compared to that of an 11 kW ICCU.
In addition, the 22 kW ICCU is related to vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology, a type of electric car battery used as a large power source, offering unlimited versatility.
All of the technologies presented by Hyundai Mobis at CES have yet to arrive on the Brazilian market.
