  • Hyundai Mobis will take part in the event which started on October 26, to promote its complete product lines and genuine accessories.
  • One of the main attractions, the 22 kW ICCU system is capable of charging twice as fast as existing 11 kW products.
  • Participation follows attendance at other global mobility events, such as CES in the United States and the IAA in Germany.

With the aim of increasing its global scale, Hyundai Mobis is expanding its automotive parts business to the Japanese market.

For the first time, Hyundai Mobis will be taking part in the Japan Mobility Show until November 5 in Tokyo. The Korean company entered the Japanese market in 2011 as a supplier of taillights and headlights for Japanese brand vehicles. Although its experience with certain components goes back a few years, this time Hyundai Mobis will be taking part in the event to promote the full range of its genuine products and accessories, including electrification, IVI (in-vehicle infotainment system) and ADAS (advanced driver assistance system).

Especially at the event, Hyundai Mobis will be presenting electrified products such as the 22 kW ICCU (Integrated Charging Control Unit), shown for the first time at the exhibition. This system charges the high-voltage and low-voltage 12V batteries of electric vehicles.

ICCU (Integrated Charge Control Unit)

Method of operation and efficiency

The ICCU system integrates the OBC (integrated charger) and the DC-DC converter that enables bidirectional energy conversion.  Through it, it is also possible to integrate the V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) function which can supply the general power to the outside of the vehicle, without a separate controller.

The 22 kW ICCU, which will be shown at the event, is a product in advanced technological development with the aim of mass production by 2025. Its system is capable of charging twice as fast as existing 11 kW products.

Enhanced windshield information projection (FALD Windshield HUD)

FALD Windshield HUD

Even though HUD (head-up display) technology has been established in Japan, Hyundai Mobis has developed new FALD (LED light array) products to quickly guarantee product technology. What’s more, Hyundai Mobis will be promoting the FALD Windshield HUD created with Korean technology.

The result is an improvement in the quality of the projected image, increasing the contrast in the illumination of this system on the vehicle’s windshield, with important information for the driver such as engine speed and GPS data. The biggest advantage is the significantly improved contrast level and energy consumption.

Lamp with modern design and technology

Four-sided LED rear lamp

At the exhibition, Hyundai Mobis will also be showing the strengths of the lamps developed by the brand.

One example is the four-sided LED rear lamp, which achieves a homogeneous image with the advantage of greater lighting efficiency compared to existing lamps. Currently, advanced development has been completed and large-scale production is planned for 2024.

It is also possible to implement ADB (adaptive headlamp) technology to avoid dazzling the vision of other drivers due to the use of high beam headlights. This product divides the high beam into 12 segments and allows individual control, making it possible to implement more detailed functions.
