PRESS RELEASE – Clarification Note

Hyundai Mobis informs that, since January 16, 2026, it has been individually monitoring employees at the Piracicaba manufacturing plant who have shown symptoms of illness.

From the outset, the case has been monitored by the Health Surveillance Agency and the Piracicaba City Hall, working together to resolve the situation and restore the health of all affected employees.

As of February 3, 2026, all employees had returned to work.

Water Analysis

The company clarifies that all water used in food preparation and for human consumption comes exclusively from the public water supply network, with no collection or use of water from artesian wells or alternative sources.

According to the technical report issued, the water sample collected on January 19, 2026 showed no residual chlorine. In view of this finding, the necessary corrective measures for water treatment were immediately adopted. In a new collection carried out on January 26, 2026, the subsequent report confirmed that the water was fit for human consumption, meeting the required standards.

As a way to enhance safety and further improve the quality of water supplied by the public water supply network, Hyundai Mobis has implemented and announced the following preventive measures to complement the treatment already carried out by the public system:

  • The existing water fountain has been replaced with a modern model equipped with a filter with superior water purification capabilities.
  • Increased frequency of laboratory water analyses;
  • Installation of an automatic chlorine dosing pump, ensuring continuous and adequate dosing;
  • Acquisition of a digital colorimeter (optical measuring equipment), allowing real-time monitoring of chlorine content.

Food analysis

After analysis carried out by Sodexo, the company responsible for the restaurant, only foods that had come into contact with water (salads and raw vegetables) were considered to be outside the regulatory standard, which rules out food as the source of the problem.

Production

From the outset, the Hyundai Mobis manufacturing plant in Piracicaba continued to operate normally, with no impact on parts production or the supply schedule for the Hyundai Motor Brazil assembly line. All actions reinforce the company’s commitment to the health, safety, and well-being of its employees.
