On August 27, Hyundai Mobis held CEO Investor Day 2025, bringing together investors, analysts, and credit rating agencies to present its long-term growth strategy, aligned with its new vision of leading the future mobility paradigm.

During the meeting, President and CEO Lee Gyu-suk highlighted three strategic pillars: strengthening technological competitiveness, increasing profitability, and expanding the global customer base.

The company is building a portfolio of cutting-edge technologies, with an emphasis on solutions in electrification, semiconductors, robotics, and software-defined vehicles (SDVs).

One of the most impressive innovations is the holographic display that transforms the windshield into a transparent screen. The technology was presented at CES 2025, the world’s largest innovation fair, and is being developed in partnership with Germany’s ZEISS, a leading international manufacturer of optical and optoelectronic equipment, and is expected to hit the market around 2029.

In the field of SDVs, Hyundai Mobis is advancing in the development of a standardized platform based on state-of-the-art electrical and electronic systems, which will enable unified control via software in different types of vehicles. Large-scale production is planned to begin in 2028, after the completion of testing and demonstrations.

In electrification, the company is investing in solutions to increase battery safety, such as fire-resistant materials that block the spread of heat between cells and automatic fire suppression systems that activate immediately after ignition. These measures reinforce Hyundai Mobis’ commitment to offering greater reliability, a better customer experience, and consolidating its leadership in technologies for the mobility of the future.

Semiconductors and Robotics

Hyundai Mobis has announced plans to expand its operations in automotive semiconductors and robotics, focusing on two strategic fronts: system and power semiconductors.

The company develops communication SoCs (battery level indicators) and integrated circuits (ICs) for battery monitoring, while expanding large-scale in-house production of power semiconductors—essential elements for electric vehicle drive systems.

With 16 types already developed, the goal of 20 million units in 2025 reinforces the company’s ambition to dominate the automotive semiconductor sector. Its research and development process has obtained the highest ISO 26262 safety rating and is developing 11 state-of-the-art chips. The company is also working to build a domestic semiconductor ecosystem through partnerships with automakers, fabless companies, and foundries, and will hold a dedicated forum next month.

In the field of robotics, Hyundai Mobis announced its entry into the actuator market, leveraging its expertise in vehicle steering systems. These actuators share components with electronic steering items. They account for more than 60% of the production cost of humanoid robots. In addition to actuators, the company plans to expand the production of sensors and controllers.

Sustainable growth

To sustain long-term growth, Hyundai Mobis is restructuring its business portfolio with a focus on profitability. The company’s goal is to achieve annual sales growth of over 8% and an operating margin of between 5% and 6% by 2027. These ambitious goals reflect Hyundai Mobis’ commitment to sustainability and long-term profitability.

This progress will be driven by product specialization and the strategic reallocation of resources to technologies that are essential for the future of mobility. The company is currently analyzing the competitiveness of about 60 products and strengthening its profit management system at all stages, from development to mass production.

Strategic partnerships at the global level

Hyundai Mobis also plans to expand its international presence, with a goal of increasing the share of global customers in sales of essential parts to 40% by 2033. To this end, the company plans to intensify partnerships in North America and Europe, as well as expand orders in fast-growing markets such as China and India through product strategies tailored to each region and the strengthening of the supply chain.

Mobis has reinforced its commitment to maximizing shareholder value. In 2025, it repurchased and canceled treasury shares worth 620 billion won, equivalent to approximately $44.6 million, almost four times the amount recorded in the previous year. The initiative reinforces its policy of transparent and predictable returns, based on dividends, buybacks, and a relationship of trust with investors. With this policy, Hyundai Mobis reaffirms its commitment to transparency and continuous shareholder value enhancement.
