Hyundai Mobis, the company responsible for genuine parts and accessories for Hyundai Motor Brazil, has stepped up efforts to monitor and remove websites and online ads for counterfeit parts for all Hyundai models sold in Brazil.

These measures against illegal trade are part of the brand’s protection strategy and prioritize the safety of Hyundai customers. The sale and purchase of counterfeit parts can cause harm to consumers, promote unfair competition, and undermine the brand’s credibility, negatively impacting the entire automotive sector.

Hyundai Mobis has intensified its fight against the sale of counterfeit parts through monitoring and removal of illegal content, resulting in the takedown of 11 websites and 17,000 online ads for counterfeit products. In July alone, these initiatives had an economic impact exceeding R$ 724,000.

“Combating the counterfeit parts market is a responsibility that involves the entire automotive supply chain, as well as consumer and brand safety. For this reason, Hyundai Mobis has been strengthening its efforts to monitor and remove advertisements and offers for counterfeit products, while also expanding access to genuine parts that offer quality, safety, and competitive prices. Our goal is to educate consumers and build confidence in purchasing components with guaranteed authenticity,” says Mauro Borges, Commercial Manager at Hyundai Mobis Brazil.

In addition to monitoring the digital environment, the company participated in training sessions with customs officials in the border region between Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay, in Foz do Iguaçu, and with the Ceará Police Department, helping to improve the identification and seizure of counterfeit products.

In addition, Hyundai Mobis has been carrying out anti-counterfeiting initiatives in the Greater São Paulo area and at the Port of Santos. As a result of these operations, more than 3,000 counterfeit products were seized, with an estimated market value of approximately R$ 1 million.

This initiative is particularly important for locally produced models, such as the HB20 and Creta, which account for the highest demand for parts and accessories in the market. With the arrival of the New Hyundai i20 in the country, Hyundai Mobis is also stepping up its brand monitoring and protection efforts, expanding measures to curb the sale of non-genuine products.

One of the solutions adopted in April of this year was the expansion of sales channels through the official website of the Mercado Livre, which has begun offering genuine parts and accessories to consumers.

Learn about the main risks of installing counterfeit parts:

– Mechanical failures;

– Reduced vehicle performance;

– Loss of warranty.

How can you identify genuine parts and accessories?

– Hyundai Mobis packaging features the Hyundai logo with the description: “Genuine Parts”;

– The labels on the cardboard boxes always have rounded corners;

– Hyundai Mobis never supplies parts without labels or with packaging that has been disassembled and separated from the product;

– Genuine Hyundai Mobis products will never be delivered alongside products from other brands or manufacturers;

– It is important to be especially cautious of products priced significantly below market rates.

Reporting Channel

The company maintains a permanent Reporting Channel on its official website, www.hyundaimobis.com.br, ensuring confidentiality and security for whistleblowers. This tool complements other efforts to combat the illegal trade in parts, with the goal of ensuring that only genuine parts and accessories are available on the market.

Where can I buy genuine parts?

All items offered are available on the Mercado Livre store and in person at official dealerships throughout Brazil.

Genuine parts and accessories supplied by Hyundai Mobis and installed at HMB dealerships come with a 12-month or 20,000-kilometer warranty, whichever comes first, starting from the item’s delivery date, regardless of the vehicle model. Products purchased at dealership counters, on the other hand, come with a 90-day warranty, also valid from the date of purchase.

Hyundai vehicles in the HB20, CRETA, and i20 model lines that are still under warranty may lose that coverage if counterfeit parts are found to be damaged during routine maintenance inspections.
