Hyundai Mobis unveiled its “NEW MOBIS” vision at the Consumer Electronics Show 2023 (CES) – the world’s largest technology show – declaring a leap forward as a mobility company that provides an integrated software-centric platform. The essence of the company’s name was also redefined as ‘MObility Beyond Integrated Solution’ in order to emphasize the crux of its future strategy, which is based on innovating the user experience as well as providing integrated solutions optimized for customer needs.
To talk about this future growth strategy and new vision, President Cho Sung-Hwan gave a presentation at CES 2023 on the 5th, where he emphasized the importance and direction of future growth as a company specializing in mobility.
Hyundai Mobis’ long-term goal and key strategy for New Mobis is to become a mobility platform provider that offers integrated solutions, combining core technologies in electrification, autonomous driving and connectivity.
This future growth strategy is well demonstrated in the M.VISION TO, the future PBV concept model unveiled by Hyundai Mobis at this year’s CES. The M.VISION TO is an electrification-based autonomous vehicle with an integrated solution of combining its drive module battery system with pillar modules centered on the e-corner system, autonomous driving sensor and communication lighting.
M.VISION TO is a mobility solution that offers scalable shapes and sizes to suit different purposes. It also extends the freedom of movement, including ‘crab’ driving and zero turning with a 90-degree spinning wheel. Through these competitive strengths, it supports a wide range of user-specific applications, from driving on narrow downtown streets to carrying loads.
Also introduced at CES, Hyundai Mobis announced the development of an integrated autonomous driving controller using Snapdragon Ride platforms from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. Hyundai Mobis has been developing a standalone autonomous driving software platform for global and local automakers.
A software platform will also be developed, in which the autonomous driving controller introduced by Hyundai Mobis will be the key component for implementing all levels of automation.
Hyundai Mobis expects its development to be completed in the first half of this year. The company expects to increase orders from global automakers for autonomous driving and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System).
Moving forward, Hyundai Mobis will continue to strengthen close cooperative relationships with various partners to secure new technologies for future mobility. Recently, Hyundai Mobis partnered with Ottopia, an Israeli startup, to develop a Remote Mobility Assistance solution targeting the fully autonomous driving market.
The new technologies launched at CES still have no date to debut in Brazil.
